Abstract:

Abstract as a single objective one. Measures like support, confidence and other interestingness criteria which are used for evaluating a rule, can be thought of as different objectives of association rule mining problem. Support count is the number of records, which satisfies all the conditions that exist in the rule. This objective represents the accuracy of the rules extracted from the database. Confidence represents the proportion of records for which the prediction of the rule (or model in the case of a complete classification) is correct, and it is one of the most widely quoted measures of quality, especially in the context of complete classification. Interestingness measures how much interesting the rule is. Using these three measures as the objectives of rule mining problem, this article uses a Simulated Annealing algorithm to extract some useful and interesting rules from any Market-basket type databases. The experimental results show that the algorithm may be suitable for large and noisy datasets but don’t stay in local minimum. Keywords: Simulated Annealing, Numeric Association Rule Mining.

Multi-objective Association Rule Mining using Evolutionary Algorithm

Generally association rule mining (ARM) algorithms, like the apriori algorithm, initial produce frequent itemsets and afterward, from the frequent itemsets, the association rules that go beyond the minimum confidence threshold. When the data is in large volume, it takes number of scans to generate frequent items. It is a better idea if all the association rules generated directly without generat...

Clustering Based Multi-Objective Rule Mining using Genetic Algorithm

Multi-Objective Genetic Algorithm (MOGA) is a new approach for association rule mining in the market-basket type databases. Finding the frequent itemsets is the most resource-consuming phase in association rule mining, and always does some extra comparisons against the whole database. This paper proposes a new algorithm, Cluster-Based MultiObjective Genetic Algorithm (CBMOGA) which optimizes th...

A Simulated Annealing Algorithm for Multi Objective Flexible Job Shop Scheduling with Overlapping in Operations

In this paper, we considered solving approaches to flexible job shop problems. Makespan is not a good evaluation criterion with overlapping in operations assumption. Accordingly, in addition to makespan, we used total machine work loading time and critical machine work loading time as evaluation criteria. As overlapping in operations is a practical assumption in chemical, petrochemical, and gla...

Capacitated Windy Rural Postman Problem with Several Vehicles: A Hybrid Multi-Objective Simulated Annealing Algorithm

This paper presents the capacitated Windy Rural Postman Problem with several vehicles. For this problem, two objectives are considered. One of them is the minimization of the total cost of all vehicle routes expressed by the sum of the total traversing cost and another one is reduction of the maximum cost of vehicle route in order to find a set of equitable tours for the vehicles. Mathematical ...
